Short: Bug fix, abort handler, resource tracker
Author: Thomas.Radtke@rz.uni-osnabrueck.de
Uploader: Thomas.Radtke@rz.uni-osnabrueck.de
Type: util/cli
----------------------------------------------------------
This is version 3 of the dircmp2 command. You can now exit
from a dircmp2 session in no time with ^C, even from a
recursion w/o loosing a single byte of memory. The last
version chrashed in some cases (tried to unlock invalid
locks, leading to memlist failures). This is fixed.
I also added an example batch file which makes use of
'dircmp2' and 'from' (not included).
DIRCMP2A.LHA AND DIRCMP2A2.LHA ARE NOW OBSOLETE. PLEASE
DELETE THEM!
----------------------------------------------------------
dircmp2 is a non-standart implementation of the dircmp command. It
is not able to produce diff-style output (otherwise I'd rather call
it dirdiff ;). dircmp2 has many levels of control, it is very
complex. You can check if there are equal named files as well as
check whether that files are really equal and so on. recursive
operation is possible in all modes. I wrote this software because
this is more what I want to get from a directory comparing
program.
Sample session:
---------------
$ dircmp2 -h
syntax: dircmp2 [-{cdDfhiprtxXv}] <directory1> [directory2]
The dircmp2 command lists all files and directories of directory1, that
cannot be found in directory2. If directory2 is omitted, '.' is used
Flags:
-c compare files
-d show only directorys
-D show differing files only
-f show only files
-h this page
-i inverse comparison
-p show full pathnames
-r subdir scan
-t indent subdir results
-x <pattern> specify pattern
-X <pattern> case sensitive specification
-v explain the results
$
Implementation note:
The source was compiled with Manx Aztec C 5.0d under AmigaOS3.0, but
should be compileable with most C compilers and should also run on any
Amiga. Starting with dircmp2 version2, -x option require V37 to work,
V36+ of AmigaDOS is now in any case required.
This software is freeware (C) Thomas Radtke 1996
